Chris + Shelbi | Married at Swans Trail Farm

01 Nov Chris + Shelbi | Married at Swans Trail Farm

If you’ve been following my work, you know that I’ve had a very wet end to my season, and unfortunately, this wedding was no exception.  Fortunately, this bride and groom laughed it off and smiled through the blustery winds and torrential downpours (this wasn’t your typical gray and drizzly PNW rainy day). It really helped that they both (especially the groom) have quirky senses of humor and are very laid back. Most notably, he made sure to bring the zombie from their living room(!) to be photographed at their wedding. They also exchanged sips of his home brew as part of their ceremony,  and chose to give their guests water guns to shoot them with as they made their final exit. That’s not your typical wedding day activities, am I right? 🙂  As for the photography portion of our day, the lovely and ever-so-slightly-damp LaRae Lobdell and I found us a respite in the tiny loft of a nearby barn. While I know it wasn’t the ladies first pick of where to stand in dresses and heels, they played along and kept the bride in good spirits. The groom and his men were able to catch a small, rain free window outside to race rubber ducks before being forced back under cover. In the end, nobody cared about the rain. The party rocked, thanks in part to wonderful coordination by Pink Blossom Events, and the incredible classic rock jams of the Dogtones, and we were all treated to a brilliant double rainbow during dinner. Enjoy this look inside Chris and Shelbi’s day!
